An unforgettable learning experience for front-line nurses
Wound Expo offers FREE, interactive education for nurses in the fundamental aspects of wound care. It helps front-line nurses strengthen their core skills and inspire better wound care practice.
Delivering seven bespoke, therapy-specific zones led by expert educators and key opinion leaders this event will provide high quality learning outcomes. Interactive sessions will take a step-by-step approach to evidence-based management, using case presentations to provide nurses with practical knowledge to take back to the workplace.
- Wound assessment
- Wound infection
- Leg ulcer management
- Healing chronic wounds
- Pressure area care
- Wound exudate
Each education zone will feature an expert in wound care leading an interactive session that brings one key area of wound care to life. Sessions will be repeated throughout the day, so you will be able to participate in five of the zones per day,
The CPD certified educational content of the event will be supported by a major exhibition featuring the leading companies in wound care. Participants will have ample opportunity to discuss their products with them and explore further the issues discussed in the education zones.
So whether you are a healthcare assistant or a staff nurse looking to improve your fundamental wound care skills, or a tissue viability specialist who wants to improve training in your trust, Wound Expo will have something for you.

Effective wound assessment increases the likelihood of a good outcome. The zone describes how to assess the wound, and when to reassess to determine if a change in treatment is required.
Infection is a major cause of wound-related problems. This session will get you thinking about how to identify infection in different wounds, how to distinguish infection from colonisation, and how to deal with each effectively.
After this session, you will feel confident about how to assess, dress and compress venous leg ulcers. The hands-on sessions will help you assess patients so that you can select the best dressings and compression therapy for their needs. You will use a variety of tools to help you make appropriate and effective choices.
What makes a wound become chronic? An understanding of the factors that cause wound chronicity will enable clinicians to promptly recognise and address them. This session explores the difference between acute and chronic wounds, and describes the management options, including new innovations, for non-healing ulcers.
Are you confident that you can prevent the preventable? This session will look at the risk factors associated with pressure ulceration, and demonstrate how you can avoid their occurrence in your day-to-day practice.
